Lego Pirates of the Caribbean

For anyone who has ever played with Legos, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is a must-have game. Available on almost any platform and rated E10+, the game is a terrific way to spend an evening with family. Lego Pirates of The Caribbean has something for every type of gamer and enough of the quirky Lego style to satisfy fans of the Lego games, as well.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean encompasses all four Pirates of the Caribbean movies –  including the latest, On Stranger Tides. The game begins with a sword fight between Will and Jack Sparrow in Will's blacksmith shop. The swaggering Jack Sparrow is hilariously rendered as a Lego character and even walks with the same motion that his movie character is famous for. The battle ends and players are rewarded with a short Lego version of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Each time a level or section is completed, another piece of the Lego movie is displayed.

Gameplay includes puzzles and building opportunities as Jack Sparrow and his friends gather a crew to man the Black Pearl. From the beaches of a deserted island to rowdy pirate saloons, Jack has to travel through many obstacles to reach his beloved ship. Gamers get a chance to change characters and enjoy the benefits of their varied abilities. Some characters can breathe under water, and some can use magic to defeat their enemies.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean allows up to two players at a time to explore the pirate world. Gamers are given the option to drop in or drop out of the game at will. The game also has a lot of save options which creates an easy saving schedule for even the youngest gamers. There is a huge amount of sword fighting, glass breaking, trunk smashing and shooting, but the game is not scary. Parents and children will enjoy the massive number of characters that can be unlocked and used during game play. Each character has its own talent and many are instantly recognizable from the movies.

From mermaids to sharks and alligators, the scenery is alive with dangerous creatures. Port Royal offers a safe haven and an opportunity to use collected treasure to buy new characters or abilities. In this section of the game, players can battle each other in boats, swim in the ocean, break bottles to get even more treasure or build with Legos. With a total of twenty levels, five from each movie, the game is large enough to offer plenty of gaming time.

Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is a hilarious addition to the Lego game genre. Lego games have a unique humor that is appreciated by both parents and children alike. Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is a silly romp through the Pirate movies that will be enjoyed by gamers of any age.
